Trends Happen! The Use Of Jewel Tones!

One of the hottest trends right now is the use of Jewel tones in a space. Colors that are hot right now include mustard yellow, turquoise, emerald green, Sapphire blues, fuchsia, and cool greys. Here are some spaces using this trend! Enjoy this beautiful color splashing trend through these photos!

(goodandglam.blogspot.com)
The use of the jewel tone turquoise color in this space makes this chandelier pop. The accent pieces in this room are what take it from good to great and using the different tones of blues create interest to this space. The use of jewel tones in this space are fabulous!

(jacquelinezinn.com)
This space is one of my favorite colors of the jewel tones. The vibrance of the colors being used in this trend are absolutely beautiful. I love the use of the vertical stripes on the rug, the bright flowers and the set of lamps with those fabulous shades! Great space!

(keep-me-where-the-light-is.blogspot.com)
This is a super fun, unique way to use the jewel tones in your space. I am a big fan of the use of empty frames. This adds instant charm to a space, and can be a cheap way to spruce up a space. Pick your favorite jewel tone and paint away!

Another great way to incorporate your favorite jewel tone is in the furniture of your space. This green couch really defines this space. The pop of color off of the wall paper is just fantastic. I am in love with all of these great colors!

This is another great way to incorporate the use of jewel tones in a space. Use it as your art as they do in this photo. For all those crafty people out there, all you need is a canvas, tape and some paint. Again, cheap solution in adding a jewel tone to your space.

This space seems to go on for forever, I love the use of pulling the turquoise color out of the pictures and putting it on the lighting fixture, the use of color in a light fixture can add so much to a space. I love the latern look as well, hot trend right now!

(Restoration Hardware)
This space is absolutely fabulous! That chandelier in the middle is breath taking! I love the mix of the rustic look with elegance. Every part of this room is great. The feel of the room is so cozy, makes me want to curl up with a book and stay forever! Love it!

(Restoration Hardware)
Here is another great space from Restoration Hardware. In this space they used industrial lighting. Industrial lighting is a trend that is growing more and more popular. As you can see here, super unique and a different twist on lighting a semi-formal space, like a dining room. Here the use of the black rustic finish is perfect to ground and complete the space. Love the overall feel of this space.

(Ethan Allen)
This is a space done by Ethan Allen. I love the swing-light fixtures. Another trend that you are seeing more of as of late. Using these types of fixtures are great in spaces that need task lighting. Here they are perfect for the bedside, for things like reading in bed. Something to consider instead of table lamps. Just a thought!

Here is a space utilizing light layering. This is done by the different uses of lighting throughout the room. In this space we have the recessed lighting, the chandelier, the table lamps on the fireplace mantel, track lighting and natural light all being used together to create an overall great lighting dynamic throughout this space. These are all lighting fixtures that can be used alone or with each other. Try light layering in your space!

Picture of Home Interior Decorating Idea
(All-pictures.biz.com)
The use of art in a space can be just as important as anything else, don't be afraid to make a statement with your art! Go big or bold, or both! This use of art is great for a bedrooom over a bed, or headboard to create visual interest, or a pop to the space.

(Decorpad.com)
Add a wall of frames, or pictures. This is a great trend that is super popular right now. It is a fun way to add personal touch to your space, or to use photographs as art. Here they have used all black and white photos for a vintage touch. Love this!

(Decorpad.com)
Take a small niche in your home and make it functional. Here they have taken two small spaces and created unique beautiful spots that work! Closets into offices, window spaces into seats, get creative and put in what you need. The little details in these designs are what really sets them apart. Great spaces!

Another way to spice things up is to add a beautiful lighting fixture that really wows you. These chandeliers make this space absolutely gorgeous, Lighting doesn't always have to be this dramatic, but what an impact it gives to a space!

Top 5 Favorite Spaces with Chandelier lighting!

These spaces are my top 5 spaces with Chandelier lighting for September!

(Decorpad.com)
This is a beautiful space with a concept of bringing the "outside in." I love this cottage-like feel of the overall space. A great unique lantern chandelier is used to make the space feel rustic and yet updated at the same time. I love the simplicity of this light fixture, but what a big impact it has on the overall space!

(HGTV.com)
This is a great dining space, the lighting in this room really tops it off. This is a Candice Olson space and of course she always gets it right with the lighting! I love the classic, traditional look this lighting gives this space, and using two instead of one here is what really makes it work!

(Decorpad.com)
Who says you can't dress up a super small space with a fabulous lighting fixture. This rustic, vintage bathroom is so great, the use of the chandelier really dresses up the space. I love the crystal and gold detail on the chandelier with the white and natural wood. Again, this light fixture is what ties this whole space together.

(Decorpad.com)
BLACK IS BACK, or in. Either way its big right now! How beautiful is this kitchen with the black and white mix? The lighting dresses it up from traditional to glamourous! I love how they used two again here in this space to balance it out. This space gets an A+ for dramatic affect lighting. Love it!

(Horchow.com/Decorpad.com)
This classic space is so rich and unique. I absolutely love the classic design elements. The mix and match chairs are great, but most of all the lighting in this space is absolutely gorgeous! With a classic greek and roman influence this light fixture is one to be the topic of the table. It is simple, but the detail is so tastefully done, fabulous space!

Top 10 Inspirational Spaces for September!!

These photos are of spaces that I absolutely think are fabulous!! These are my Top picks for this month!

This room is FABULOUS! It inspires me as a designer to go above and beyond. The wall of mirrors are gorgeous! I love the simplicity of this room, but how great the detail is. The mirrors show the other side of the room that includes the mosiac tile art. This mosiac is one of my favorite instilations I have seen! I'm in love with this room.

This room is one of my favorites of the Bradley Hughes. There is so much that draws the eye in on this space. Everything is so beautiful, where do I even start? At first glance my eye is drawn directly to the floor to ceiling windows and to the window treatments. The subtule pop of colors and the simple yet so detailed patterns make this space over the top great!
(Bradley-Hughes.com)

Another space of Bradley Hughes. This space is incredible. The lighting fixtures, the artwork, mirrors, and furniture all make this rustic, edgy space come together. Each piece of this space alone or in this space offers something great and unique. The edge in this design is something you don't see very often, but when done right is fabulous!!

Interior Design Ideas
This space shows how great the use of color can be! Some people are afraid of color or bold choices in their spaces. I say GO FOR IT! The pops of color througout are what makes this space fit. It is simple, but the color says it all. Simply beautiful!
(ELLE DECOR)

This space is the definiton of elegance. Gray on gray works in this particular space because of the use of different texture, the element of shine vs. matte and they way the lighting hits the color itself. You could add a pop of color but why, so retreat-like and calming. Easy to mimick in your space, give it a try!

Another tone on tone room, here done in blues. I love the soft feel this space gives off. Every fabric in the room screams sit on me, while the accessories are again what makes the space great. The globe lighting fixture, the floor lamp, and the window treatments finish off the space and the blue on blue tones create a unique flare to a great space.
(ELLE DECOR)

This unique bathroom makes me secretly love every inch of this space. The little details are what makes this space so great! Notice the geometric patterns on the paneling and the cabinets, the way the mirror reflects the built-in shelfing unit and how great the paneling is covering every part of this room. Also, have to comment on the lighting shadowing the tub and the flooring, how great is that tile! Love the way it is layed vertically.
(HGTV.com)

This photo just proves that small spaces need loving too! Although this space is incredibly small, it is incredibly great in design. Pattern on pattern if used right can be oh so good! This just proves that no space can go un-noticed or un-designed. Get to work people. Make every space in your home great!
(Decorpad.com)

This space is actually Khloe Kardashian's home office. I love this space because of so many elements. This is the way to do an office. The glamour in this space is fabulous! It is the little touches of glamour in this space that make it just right. The chandelier works in this space because it lets in so much natural light. The oversized flowers are great and wow can we please note that fabulous mirrored desk? Hello dream office!
(Myglamourology.com)

Couldn't go top 10 inspirational spaces without including a space designed by Candice Olson! This unique kitchen shows a crisp, clean and beautiful space. You don't necessarily see a lot of pattern in the kitchen, I love that unique touch to this space. The flooring is incredible with the washed detail of the mix of grays and whites. Also, can't ignore those beautiful chandeliers, I mean come on, I am a big believer in that it is possible to have a chandelier in every room in the house!

"Top 10 In September"

Get your lighting fix, check out my top 10 for September below!

ELEGANT & CLASSIC

Fredrick Raymond
Xanadu Chandelier
This chandelier is absolutely beautiful, it is so elegant and the sharpness makes it's appearance pristine. I am loving the crystals and the curved lines throughout this fixture. Can you picture this in your home?

Fredrico Otero
Catacaos Pendant
This Chandelier is so classic and streamline, but the detail on the bottom with all of the circles makes it magnificent. If you are one who pays attention to detail, this is your chandelier. This is a modern twist to a traditional light fixture. Like they always say, it is all in the detail.

Todd Rugee
Cascade Divide
As you can see, this light fixture is so creative, its so unique and it gives the illusion that the light is raining from above. I have seen these luminaires installed in commercial properties, but how neat would it be to have this hanging in your personal space?

Horchow
Grand Noir Chandelier
This chandelier is right up my alley, it is classic, traditional and elegant. I am IN-LOVE with everything black right now. Bold is beautiful with this fixture! Black is a color that many were or still are afraid of but jump on the band-wagon folks BLACK IS IN!! One of my favorites!!

RUSTIC

Ballard Designs
Orb Chandelier
This fixture is something you would maybe not envision when you think of the word "chandelier," However, how unique and fabulous is this one? Again, if you look closely at each detail that makes up this luminaire, you will fall in love, just like I did. How intricate is this design?

Pottery Barn
Marine Pendant
This industrial pendant is just one of the many industrial lights you will find out there today. Industrial lighting is a trend that is become really popular. I am in love with the industrial lighting, I think it definitely adds something unique and rustic to your space. This pendant can be used in or outdoors which makes it a must have for your home!

UNIQUE

Meyda Lighting
Wine Pendant
These pendants are super unique, something you wont find many places. What a fabulous idea!! For all you wine lovers out there, and how many kitchens or spaces do you know that are decorated in a "wine theme" Calling all wine lovers!!! These pendants are for you!

Bradley Hughes
Alberta Chandelier
Bradley Hughes is one of my favorite showrooms found in the Chicago Merchandise Mart!! The Bradley Hughes spaces, furniture and lighting stands alone with its creativity, uniqueness, and beauty. It is edgy, something I personally love in design! Love this luminaire!!

Bocci
28.37

This is one of Bocci's unique fixtures, it is custom with hand blown glass. This is something you don't see everyday. Hand blown glass work is so beautiful. I love that they are see-through, however they make them in colors as well. Something that could bring so much to your space! Check out Bocci's style!

Charles Loomis
Dahlia Chandelier
This Chandelier again, is not your typical chandelier. The detail in reflected in this luminaire is breathtaking. I had to put this fixture in the unique section of the top 10 lighting because that is just simply what it is. The design of the light itself is filled with so much character. I think this fixture would be the perfect conversation starter in your space!
